IOT Solutions World Congress 2022 closes outlining a roadmap towards the digitalization of industries

IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the leading international event devoted to industry transformation through disruptive technologies, closes this afternoon its sixth edition after three days of debates and knowledge sharing with the aim of setting a roadmap towards the digitalization of all industries. The show held 330 exhibitors, 95 conferences and panel sessions, over 270 speakers and was jointly held with the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, and the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the world’s leading professional audiovisual and systems integration show.

Organized by Fira de Barcelona and the Industry IOT Consortium® (IIC™), IOTSWC 2022 hosted over 12,000 visitors and became once more an international showcase for the latest industrial solutions combining disruptive technologies such as Internet of Things, Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality, 5G connectivity and Quantum computing.

The Congress touched on key issues such as how businesses are tackling disruptions in these uncertain times and how digital transformation can improve business outcomes by reimagining manufacturing and the supply chain. Experts also discussed the future of energy, automotive and healthcare, among other verticals, and highlighted that sustainability is no longer an option but a mandatory requirement.

El director of the IoTSWC, Roger Bou has said “the 2022 edition of IOTSWC has undoubtedly been a positive one. We have gathered once again the whole industrial solutions ecosystem to provide a new boost after a two-year hiatus. The level of the discussions as well as the solutions showcased by exhibitors have made it possible to outline how companies should face the immediate future and the transformation of their businesses. Also, the joint celebration with ISE has proven to be an absolute success and we look forward to establishing a long-lasting and fruitful relationship”.

Along these lines, the president of the IIC, Bill Hoffman said: “We have seen once again an overwhelming interest is disruptive solutions across many industries. After the pandemic, many companies have realized that the digitalization of their businesses will not only have a quick return on their investments but will also ensure long term growth whether they operate in healthcare, financial services, mining, manufacturing or transportation. That is what IOTSWC is all about.”

Among the exhibiting companies were AWS, Deloitte, KNX, Relayr, Siemens, Trellix, ABB, Altair, Braincube, Device Authority, Entrust, Digicert, Emnify, Esri, Faircom, Fiware, Hitachi, Huawei, Kaspersky, Libelium, Richardson, TDA, and TXOne Networks.

Cybersecurity in the spotlight
The third edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress (BCC), organized by Fira de Barcelona and the Agència de Ciberseguretat de Catalunya, underlined the importance that cybersecurity has as one of the most critical challenges that an increasingly digitized world is facing. The sessions held at the cybersecurity auditorium registered high attendances throughout the event and tackled topics such as hardware protection, hacker patterns tracking, industrial network monitoring, protection layers for the autonomous car and zero-trust architecture.

The BCC featured companies such as Armis, Fortinet, Hornet Security, Paloalto, Sternum, Hiscox, PWC, S21Sec and EY. In addition, the event featured a Hacking Village with workshops and activities including a hacking competition where hackers had the challenge to neutralise the Mummy Spider trojan virus in two hours.

IOT Solutions World Congress will return on 2023 for its seventh edition scheduled from January 31st to February 2nd.
